What We Can Diagnose
Modern vehicles rely on multiple electronic systems and control modules. A diagnostic trouble code can point us toward a problem, but proper testing is often needed to determine what is actually causing the fault.
Check Engine Lights
We can diagnose check engine lights and determine whether the problem involves sensors, ignition, fuel, emissions or another vehicle system.
Electrical Problems
Electrical faults can be difficult to locate. We test circuits, power supplies, grounds and components to help identify the source.
Warning Lights
ABS, airbag, traction control and other warning lights can indicate faults that require proper diagnostic testing.
Starting Problems
If your vehicle is difficult to start or will not start, diagnostics can help identify electrical, fuel, ignition or communication problems.
Drivability Problems
Rough running, hesitation, stalling, poor acceleration and other drivability concerns can require testing beyond simply reading fault codes.
Intermittent Faults
Problems that come and go can be especially difficult to diagnose. Testing and troubleshooting can help narrow down the source of intermittent faults.
OUR APPROACH
Our Diagnostic Process
We focus on finding the cause of the problem rather than simply replacing parts based on a fault code.
Scan
We begin by checking the vehicle for diagnostic trouble codes and available system information.
Test
Additional testing may be required to verify power, grounds, signals, sensors, wiring or other components.
Diagnose
We use the test results to determine the most likely cause of the vehicle problem.
Repair
Once the problem is identified, we can recommend the appropriate repair or next step.
WHY DIAGNOSE FIRST?
A Warning Code Does Not Always Mean You Need a New Part
A diagnostic trouble code identifies a system or condition that the vehicle has detected. It does not necessarily identify the exact component that has failed.
For example, a sensor-related code can sometimes be caused by wiring, a power supply, a poor ground, another component or the sensor itself.
Proper diagnosis helps avoid unnecessary parts replacement and allows the actual cause of the problem to be addressed.
